Back to training

Since I’ve completed my Millions of reasons 75 kilometre May fundraiser run for the Children’s hospital, it’s time to get back to my training schedule, though I really have enjoyed running those long distances on back country roads. I usually do my hardest work out at the beginning of the week because I’ve usually hadContinue reading “Back to training”

How to know when your runners are done?

I have recently put on more mileage and switched from running trails to a few days of running on back country roads, and I got shin splints for the first time. I took almost a week off to let myself heal. This morning I ran 16 km’s mostly on trail but I had about 1Continue reading “How to know when your runners are done?”

Wild fire smoke~Trail running put on hold!

During this morning’s run, I stopped a few times to take photos. I noticed on my second lap, about an hour in, that the smoke against the mountains was growing thicker. Wildfire season has begun early! A quick end to my trail running season I turned around to see the early morning sun pop upContinue reading “Wild fire smoke~Trail running put on hold!”

Shin splints~why I got them & how to fix them.

Last week over 4 days I ran 75 kilometres for a Children’s hospital fundraiser. That’s the most mileage I have ever run and about double the mileage I usually run! Rain water drip line irrigation

I have re arranged the garden…again! It seems like every year I get a new idea and then I have to re do everything lol! This year I filled in some real estate to create nice “blocks”, to make drip line watering easier. In doing so, also makes full use of the space I have.Continue reading “Rain water drip line irrigation”

Million reasons run-Day 2

I ran a totally different route this morning for a change of scenery. I had zero expectations, not knowing how I would feel, though remembering there was quite a bit of uphill at the start. As it turned out, the warm up climb was 2 km’s, the longest continuous climb I had run yet. TheContinue reading “Million reasons run-Day 2”

Million reasons run-Day 1

Today was my first Million reasons 75 km fundraiser run, which lasts the duration of May. Weather wise, this morning was a gloomy day, though I was lucky to have missed the rain. Even though I had taken a bunch of days off to let my achilles tendon repair, my body felt heavy and sluggish.Continue reading “Million reasons run-Day 1”
